 As the son of Mark, I started to help out around the store when
I was about 7 years old. My reward was a stipend of 25¢ an hour.
But I received something money can’t buy.
By watching and being taught, I learned the business from the
ground up. I learned the old ways and the new ways. Ask me
a question and chances are I have the answer. I also learned to
pay attention to what customers want and to provide it.

My grandfather, Charles Tashman, and my father, Mark, came to America in 1959 along with the belief they could achieve the American dream. The dream of being whatever you wanted if you had a vision, were willing to work hard and offered people what they wanted at a fair price.
