Interior doors provide added distinction to the style of your home. Even the simplest door style can dramatically enhance the look of a room or your home. Paneled, glass, molded and mirrored doors are just a few of  the many designs from which you can choose. They can be natural wood, painted or stained. There are also Shoji-type screen doors that be very effective in loft-type units.

For a traditional home—or if you’re working with a tight budget—chances are a one-panel or multi-panel door in white or a color will be perfect. There are so many wonderful paneled designs to choose from. They can be kept white or painted to match your decor. While not expensive they are beautiful and quite durable. But they look expensive and do so much to make your room beautiful.

Mirrored doors work best in a bath or bedroom. French doors are perfect when you want to make the rooms appear larger and more open. Glass doors work well for more stylized interiors. Then there are solid wood doors of different weights and designs—from simple unadorned to elaborartely carved.

Still not sure? Come into and meet with one of our experts. They can help  you pick the perfect doors. Ones that fit your budget and look like a million bucks.

How do you decide which way your interior doors should swing?

  • If your room is small, you will probably prefer the door to swing out to maximize space and give a sense of openness in the room.

  • For a swing out door there must be a large enough step or pad that a person can walk out onto when the door is opened from the inside.

  • If your room or area has very little room, you may want to consider a folding or accordian door. Because the door is made of two or more smaller panels, it requires much less room to open.

It’s really important to think about where the door will be placed before you buy it. That’s why discussing the style of your home and interior/exterior space is important to selecting to one that fits your needs.

And, that’s what Tashman Home Center staff can help you with. So please ask us for assistance. It will be a pleasure to serve you!
