Our Philosophy

My grandfather, Charles Tashman, and my father, Mark, came to America in 1959 and worked out of the back of their 1957 Plymouth. Two years later they were able to open Tashman Screens. Three years later in response to the community and customers’ needs they added hardware, becoming Tashman Screens & Hardware. Finally, today the Hardware division of our store carries over 20,000 items in inventory every day.

"Don't pay twice when you can get it done right the first time."  As the son of Mark, Kenny, that’s me, I started helping out around the store when I was about seven years old. My pay was 25¢ an hour. Not a bad living for a seven-year-old. But, there was a lot more to it than earning an honest wage. I received something money can’t buy, an education. Back in the day, every neighborhood had a local hardware store. We told a quick joke and got you in and out of the store with the right product you needed the first time. Today, we are Tashman Home Center as we've expanded our installation to service windows, doors, screens & glass. We still service our customers like in the beginning, but our jokes are no better.
